On the way to the Tuena goldrush festival some thirty years ago, we passed Kingsdale 1882, and it was love at first sight. The beauty of the stone work and the architectural style of the homestead just took our breath away.
When Kingsdale 1882 hit the market in August 2022, my husband saw it on instagram. He was excited to tell me. I shrugged my shoulders thinking we don’t stand a chance
I then erased it from memory, and not long after we jumped in the car headed for the Great Ocean Road. The last night of our trip we stayed at The Sir George in Jugiong.
The following morning was a Saturday, and in no hurry to get home, we decided to explore Crookwell and surrounding quaint villages, as we hadn’t visited this area in decades. Kingsdale 1882 sits between Crookwell and Goulburn, and we just happened to pass the
Homestead between the 11-11:30am time slot, which was the third open home, and the rest is history.
We are very lucky to be the latest custodians of such a stunning and iconic piece of Australian history, designed by the famous architect EC Manfred
Funnily enough my husband had a dream to one day own an old pub. We have since learnt Kingsdale 1882 was originally built as a local watering hole - The Kingsdale Hotel.
Our family and friends love to gather at Kingsdale 1882, and take time out from our busy lives. We can’t wait to share it with you too.
